Description

This chopping board is made from the various varieties of South Island Beech, in fact three different types. The outer sections are Black Beech from a local Canterbury forest, the next sections are Red Beech from the West Coast and the central section is Southland Silver Beech.
The dimensions are approx 300mm x 280mm and 30mm thick. It weighs approx 1.9kg.
It was given an initial coat of food grade mineral and then finished with a couple of coats of the food safe mineral oil & beeswax finish.
The Black Beech sections have got a couple of surface cracks but they have been sealed with epoxy before the board was finished and then I have fitted the white feet to make sure that you use the perfect side.
